Plattsburgh Alumni Association Awards Nomination Form
The Plattsburgh Alumni Association Awards recognize notable alumni, faculty or staff who have made outstanding contributions to the Alumni Association, the university, and/or the community. Please use this form to submit nominations. Nominations are reviewed annually. Deadline for the annual review cycle is February 12.

Distinguished Alumni Award

Presented by the College and the Plattsburgh Alumni Association Board of Directors to honor graduates of SUNY Plattsburgh for their professional achievements or contributions to society.

Faculty or Staff Impact Award

Presented to a faculty or staff member, current or retired, who had a major and lasting positive impact on the life of alumni.

Off to a Good Start Alumni Award

Presented to an alumnus or alumna within the first ten years after graduation, who is off to a good start in a career, who is demonstrating a sense of responsibility within his or her community, and who continues to have a relationship with SUNY Plattsburgh.

Robert M. Garrow ’52 Alumni Service Award

In honor of Robert M. Garrow ’52, the Alumni Service Award recognizes an alumnus or alumna who has demonstrated outstanding service to the alma mater, and has done so in keeping with the traditions of SUNY Plattsburgh.

Award Nomination Process:

* Individuals may not receive the same award more than once.

* Self-nominations will not be eligible for consideration.

* The selection process is confidential among the selection committee members and candidates are not notified of their nomination.

* Nominators will want to ensure their nomination materials adequately describe their nominee's unique qualifications for the award.

* Current Institutional Advancement (development, alumni relations, advancement services and advancement communications) staff are not eligible for these awards.

* If a nominee is not selected for an honor during a review cycle the selection committee may carry forward the nomination for future consideration.

All nominations should include:

* Electronic submission of the completed application (below) that provides a detailed statement describing why the nominee deserves recognition. To receive full consideration, the nominee’s resume and/or biography should be attached.

* Supporting materials are optional but strongly encouraged. These materials may include letters of support, a LinkedIn profile page, news articles, publications or announcements.

* Awards are presented to living alumni and are not presented posthumously.
